FTSE CLOSE: Footsie tumbles to three-month low

In Europe, German's Dax and France's Cac 40 were down 0.7 per cent and 0.9 per cent, while on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 80 points in early trading. Shares lost more than half their value, down another 59 per cent or 41p to 28p and have now fallen by more than 80 per cent in the last year. Despite overnight gains on Wall Street, indices across Europe have fallen with the Dax in Germany and France down by 0.6 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively. Shares are down another 47 per cent or 32.5p to 36.5p and have now fallen by around 80 per cent in the last year.
